Brazil exported US$26.4 billion worth of merchandise to the U.S. in 2006, up 8% from 2005 and up 67% in just 4 years.
Brazilian imports from the U.S. rose 25% to $19.2 billion in 2006, up 55% since 2002.
In terms of the merchandise flow between the two countries, America’s trade deficit with Brazil was $7.2 billion in 2006, up 109% from 2002. The U.S. trade deficit with Brazil in 2006 decreased 22% from the year earlier.
